2007 Sunday, July 22, 2007 - Thursday, July 26, 2007 Coastal Zone 07 Coastal Zone 07 will be held in Portland , Oregon , July 22 to 26, 2007. The overall conference theme, "Brewing Local Solutions to Your Coastal Issues," will be highlighted in oral and poster presentations that use case studies, lessons learned, and success stories. The biennial Coastal Zone conference, now in its fifteenth edition, is the largest international gathering of ocean and coastal management professionals in the world. Nearly 1,000 people attend, representing federal, state, and local governments, academia, nonprofit organizations, and private industry. The conference gives these attendees a platform to discuss the issues facing our world's coasts and oceans and a forum for discovering new strategies and solutions. Event Website... Monday, August 13-Friday, August 17-Regional Sediment Management Workshop. The 2007 RSM Workshop will be held August 13-17 at the 5 Rivers- Alabama Delta Resource Center in Mobile , Alabama ( http://www.outdooralabama.com/outdoor-adventures/5rivers/ ). The event will begin Monday afternoon with a bus tour of the Mississippi Coast affected by Hurricane Katrina followed by a barbecue. The annual workshop is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday followed by a technical workshop Thursday and Friday on the development of regional sediment budgets.
