DATA
PHASE IX

Determination of the performance of steel reinforced concrete incorporating pelletized blast-furnace slag or fly ash or silica fume.
Test prisms installed at Treat Island . . . . . . . . . 1987

This phase involves the evaluation of steel-reinforced, normal-weight concrete with a water-to-cementitious materials ratio of 0.50 and incorporating 50 percent slag, or 25 percent fly ash or 10 percent silica fume as a replacement for cement. The steel reinforcing bars were 20 mm in diameter, and the concrete cover was 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 mm. The slag was from a source in southern Ontario, the fly ash was from a source in Nova Scotia, and the silica fume was from a source in Quebec.
